They celebrated their adorable daughter's birthday on the 25th of August by sharing love with these children in a refugee camp.

Newly married couple arrest Best-man over wedding suit

A newly married woman, Mrs. Ify Anyanwu has arrested and charged to a Lagos court her husband’s bestman, Chris Abasuonu for assaulting her when she demanded the suit he wore as her husband’s bestman during their wedding.

The 31- year old Chris was charged before Apapa Magistrate’s court where he was remanded in prison custody.

Trouble started between the couple and Chris on their wedding day when Chris started demanding N11,000 from Ify’s husband, saying that was the amount he spent on sewing his suit for the wedding.

A 54-year old generator repairer in Lagos, has been sent to jail for allegedly sleeping with his 16-year old daughter and impregnating her.

The man, Mr. Tajudeen Sanni, who hails from Oyo State, was charged to the Family Court, Kakawa, Lagos, for impregnating his daughter and subsequently sent to Ikoyi Prison as he could not perfect his bail condition on time.

The 16-year old girl (name withheld) is now in custody of the Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation for adequate care.

Save Debbie Osarere From Breast Cancer (Video interview)

Her name is Debbie Idiagbonya Osarere, who is diagnosed with non-malignant lump in her breast. Debbie worked as a medical lab technician up until her medical condition had her bedridden.

The 28-year old, who had undergone two surgeries in 2011, needs N6m to go for a final operation.

Friends say Debbie needs mastectomy to remove her breasts completely, another surgery for arrangement of spinal cord and another for replacement of breasts

The accused – Okwumo Nwabufo (33), Ezike Olisaeloka (23), Orji Osita (32) and Maduakor Chukwunonso (25)

Nwabufo and Olisaeloka (The immediate perpetrators of the crime) are students while Osita and Chukwunonso are pharmacists.

Senate stops CBN on N5,000 notes

The Senate, yesterday, warned the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, to, as a matter of urgency, stop his proposed introduction of N5,000 denomination. 

Chairman, Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and other Financial Institutions, Senator Bassey Edet Otu, said that it had become imperative for Senate to put a halt to the new CBN arrangement because a project of this kind required parliamentary approval, adding that the upper legislative chamber was never briefed prior to the announcement of the soon-to-be introduced note.
