HURRICANE SANDY: Ocean surge may hit Lagos in 7 days?

Ok...I don't believe Nigeria can suffer any form of hurricane but well...Lagos state said it, so there might be some truth in it.

The Lagos State Government, yesterday alerted residents of a possible ripple effect of the hurricane such as ocean surge on the state’s coastal areas within the next seven days.

Man detained by Bauchi State Government for attacking Bauchi State on Facebook

A 30-year old civil servant, Abbas Faggo, detained by Bauchi State Government for allegedly posting a Facebook account of alleged monumental corruption in the state, was yesterday arraigned before a magistrate court over alleged injurious falsehood and defamation.

The prosecution accused Faggo of using his mobile telephone number to forward a message on his Facebook profile on September 4, alleging that the state funded the wedding of the state governor’s son, which took place at the Azare area of the state on September 8.

Four policemen collapse at parade in Benin

Na waoh, God will help us in this country. If police men that are supposed to be upholding law and order in the country are collapsing, I wonder what hope we have.

Four policemen yesterday collapsed at the Dr. Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin-City, during the pull-out parade of the Edo State Commissioner of Police (CP), Olayinka Balogun.

The policemen were participating in the parade when they slumped.

They were attended to and revived by the medical police personnel.

The wife of the former governor of Akwa Ibom state, Allison Attah has died.

Mrs Attah, originally from Barbados, died in a Lagos hospital at about 3:30 p.m. on Monday after she lost a six-year long battle to a terminal kidney condition that left her depending on regular dialysis.

Third Mainland Bridge re-opens 10 days ahead of schedule

Yey! Finally, after months of closure the Third Mainland Bridge, the longest bridge connecting Lagos Island to the mainland was re-opened on yesterday, Tuesday, earlier than estimated.

 Rehabilitations on the bridge started in July resulting in its partial closure. Reports had been rife that the bridge was oscillating in 2006.

This led to the inspection of the bridge and the eventual rehabilitation and replacement of expansion joints in July.

Thank God. Hopefully, traffic flow from the mainland to the Island will be better. Although, I must confess that it wasn't actually as bad as we all thought it will be during the repairs.

Bomb blast hits Catholic church in Kaduna

A suicide bomber has hit St. Rita's Catholic Church in  Ungwar Yero  area of Kaduna metropolis.

The attack which seriously injured the Reverend father in the church occurred around 8:45 AM today, during the morning mass.


Eyewitnesses told SaharaReporters that a lone car bomber approached the church gate hoping to quietly drive into the church before exploding the bomb but the security men at the gate refused him entry.


The bomber then reversed his car and rammed it forcefully against the gate of the church, the gate caved in as the bomb exploded injuring several churchgoers.


Nigerian troops have cordoned off the area while the police and Kaduna state government officials are calming down  christian residents in the area to avoid religious confrontations that typically follows such attack in the state.

Patience denies being in a hospital but thanks Nigerians for praying for her during her 'trial time'

Dame Patience returned to the country yesterday (Wednesday, 17th) after spending about seven weeks abroad.

As soon as she alighted from the aircraft, she denied that she went abroad for cosmetic surgery. She also denied being an in-patient in a German hospital on account of a terminal disease, adding that her husband loved her physique.

She said, “I read in the media where they said I was in the hospital. God Almighty knows I have never been to that hospital. I don’t even know the hospital they mentioned.

Patience Jonathan is back in Nigeria! Denies having been hospitalised in Germany

The First Lady was speaking on her arrival in the country after being away for two months, insisted that there was no truth in the rumour that she was undergoing treatment for an ailment.

The aircraft conveying the first lady landed at the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe international airport, Abuja at 3.45 pm, Wednesday evening.

Hundreds of women and members of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) were at the airport to welcome the first lady back home.

Mrs Jonathan had travelled out of the country for treatment of an undisclosed illness in Germany about two months ago and series of questions have been raised by civil society and some opposition parties, seeking to know the where about of the president’s wife.

However, while the saga was on, the president briefly visited her in Germany. The Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) had broadcasted a short video clip showing a smiling Mrs Jonathan receiving her family in Germany.

It's been one hell of a busy day again! as it has become these days. The good thing though, is it was fun. Today was our Road show with the CEO and the only rule was that we should be branded to work.

You know what that means? I got to wear jeans on a Wednesday! I love my jeans, I love being 'gorgeously simple'. As for those glasses, don't mind them oh, they're shakara geek glasses and as branded as the T.shirt I am wearing.

Hey Guys,

Thanks to everyone who has sent me one message or the other asking me where I've been and why I haven't been updating my blog. I feel so loved!

Really, I've been fine but been mad busy and one hot dude has been keeping me busy *blushing*. There's been so much going on in my life (all nice things) that I didn't even have a breathing space for my darling blog and my sweet dear readers. I'll tell you guys all the details soon but for now, I'm back and I promise never to missing on you again.

Ok.. I know a lot has been happening but the most shocking of them all so far has been the Aluu 4. I know most of you must have seen the video and read about those poor souls that were merciless and brutally murdered in Uniport. All we can say is justice be served to those wicked people and may the souls of the students rest in peace.

I beg, has anyone seen Patience Jonathan? I hear Nigerians are looking for her as she seems to have gone missing. I hope she returns in good health, we've all missed her queen's English.
