Three girls – Happy John (20), Happy
Jackson (20) and Angela Boniface (23) -have been rescued by men of the
Osun State Police Command from a Cote d’Ivoire-based Nigerian
prostitution ring.
The Commissioner of Police, Mrs. Kalafite
Adeyemi, who paraded four members of the prostitution ring in Osogbo on
Wednesday, said the three girls were on the verge of being transported
to the French-speaking African country for prostitution when they were
rescued.
According to Adeyemi, the four members of
the syndicate, Blessing Ehichioya, Ofin Blessing, Joy Blessing and Bose
Ozoya – came to Nigeria from Cote d’Ivoire in April.
The police commissioner said that the suspects and the victims were apprehended on May 24, 2012, by the command’s detectives.
